Teacher Notes
- Factor out perfect n-th powers from the radicand; for monomials multiply by c^(n−1) under the root, and for binomials use conjugates. Show prime factorization and substitutions in the steps.
FAQ
What inputs are supported?
Integers with n≥2, c>0, m>0. Negative radicands with even n are not real; treated as input errors in v1.
How is rationalization performed?
Monomials: multiply by √[n]{c^{n−1}}. Binomials: multiply by the conjugate (p−q√m) for denominator p²−q²m. Reduce as needed.
