Load PDF
Files are not uploaded to any server. The tool edits document info only and leaves page content unchanged.
Edit metadata
Tips
- When you clear a field, the exported PDF keeps that field blank and leaves document content unchanged.
- Dates use your local time zone. Existing dates are filled in when you load the PDF; clear a date field to remove it from the exported file.
- Keywords support comma-separated lists such as “invoice, 2025, project”.
Use metadata edits for document info, not page text
PDF metadata is the document information stored separately from the visible pages. It can affect how a file appears in search, file previews, document properties panels, and some library systems, but it does not rewrite the text printed on the page.
Fields you can update
- Title, author, subject, and keywords: useful for organizing files and making document properties clearer.
- Creator and producer: useful when you need to record or clear the software-related metadata stored in the PDF.
- Creation and modified dates: use local date-time values, or clear the field when you do not want that entry in the exported file.
What this does not remove
Changing document-info fields does not remove visible page text, form values, annotations, embedded attachments, or every possible XMP/custom metadata entry. If the PDF contains sensitive content on the page, edit or redact the page content with the appropriate tool before sharing.
Good follow-up tools
After metadata cleanup, use Compare PDFs to check text changes, PDF to Text for quick extraction, or Sign & Stamp when preparing a final copy.
FAQ
Which metadata fields can I edit here?
You can update common document-info fields such as title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, and the creation or modified timestamps when the PDF stores them in the standard metadata block.
Does this page upload my PDF?
No. This tool processes your PDF in your browser. Files are not uploaded to a server while you use the tool.
Will this change the page content?
No. The tool edits document metadata only, so the visible page graphics and text stay the same unless another PDF tool changes them separately.
Does this remove every hidden detail from a PDF?
No. It clears or updates the common document-info fields shown on this page. PDFs can also contain page text, annotations, attachments, form values, XMP data, or other custom entries that this simple metadata editor may not remove.
What happens if I leave a field blank?
Leaving a field blank clears that metadata entry in the exported file, while untouched fields can keep their original value.
