These are signal directions and event counts, not wheel notches or actual page movement. A diagonal event can count in two directions.
Double-clicks are recognized by the browser. This is not a test for unintended switch bounce.

One primary-button press starts one count. Holding it does not repeat. CPS is the count divided by the selected seconds.

How the test counts
- In Input check, select Start and use the test area. The five button rows show observed presses and current states. Pause or leave the area whenever needed; totals remain in this tab until cleared.
- In CPS test, choose 5, 10, or 30 seconds and select Start. The first primary-button press inside the area starts the timer and counts as one. The final CPS is the accepted press count divided by the selected duration. Holding a button does not add repeats.
- Keep the test area focused and the pointer inside it. Leaving before the deadline interrupts the timed test and produces no score. Other websites may use completed clicks or different timing rules, so compare only equivalent tests.
What this test cannot prove
Not observed does not mean faulty. A browser can miss system shortcuts or side buttons. Mouse-type events may also come from a trackpad. This tool does not measure physical polling rate, latency, or switch bounce, and it does not certify hardware.
The app does not upload or save your input or results. Site-wide analytics and advertising follow the site's privacy settings.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as one click in the CPS test?
This test counts the start of a primary-button press, not a completed press-and-release click. The first press starts the timer and is included. Each new press after a release adds one, and a held button does not repeat.
Does an unobserved button mean my mouse is broken?
No. The operating system, browser, driver, or button mapping may handle an action before this page receives it. The tool reports only what it observes; it does not diagnose hardware faults.
Can I use a trackpad or touchscreen?
A trackpad can be counted when the browser reports its button events as mouse input. This version does not count touch or pen taps as CPS. You can read the page and use its controls on a phone, or connect an external mouse.
Are scroll counts the number of wheel notches?
No. They count nonzero wheel events and their signal directions. Trackpads, momentum, and browser settings affect these signals. A diagonal event counts once in the total and once for each applicable axis.
What happens when I leave the area or switch tabs?
The input check pauses and clears the currently held display while retaining totals. A timed test interrupted before its deadline produces no CPS score. Return and explicitly start or resume; the app does not resume automatically.
Are inputs or results uploaded or stored?
The app keeps only temporary totals in this tab and does not upload them or save a history. Copying a completed result is optional. Site-wide analytics and advertising still follow the site privacy settings; extensions and operating-system clipboard history are outside this app’s control.
